Helene Janet Johnson-90-Loves Park, Il. and Bonita Springs, Fl. , died at 4:31 P.M. Saturday, October 20, 2007 at her home in Loves Park. Her mind and sense of humor remained keen until the end. She kept herself young by enjoying weekly golf games and breakfast with her "golf ladies" and her daily gin rummy games with her sister. Born October 28,1916, in Harvard, IL. , daughter of John Edward and Pauline R. (Bailey) Grady. She attended St. Joseph Church and School and graduated from Harvard Community High School. She moved to Rockford in 1935 and married Earle Walter Johnson in Rockford, IL., on May 27,1939. Earle died in 1993. Helene was a member of Rolling Green Garden Club, Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club, the Holy Family Women's Guild, Altrusa Service Club, and Ladies of the Elks. She worked over 30 years as Secretary- Treasurer at their family owned business; Jonco Tool Supply Inc. until her retirement in 1980. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park and St. Leo The Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, Fl. Survivors include her Son; Stephen (Marilynn) Johnson of Rockford, her Daughters; Janet (George) Farbotko of Roscoe and Susan B. Johnson of Arlington Heights, IL. Sisters Marialice Grady of Bonita Springs, Fl. and Pat Andersen of Saint Amant, LA. Grandchildren; S. Brent (Cheryl) Johnson of Slinger, WI, Melissa (Brad) Moore of Orlando, FL, Colin (Marney) Farbotko of Minneapolis, MN, Anna Farbotko of Nantes, France, and Elise Roberts of Arlington Heights, IL. 8 Great Grandchildren. Also preceded in death by two sons; Jeffrey and Michael Johnson. Memorial Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 27,2007, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, IL. Fr. Brian Olson will officiate. Visitation from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, IL 61111 or St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 22290 Beaumont Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
