Dennis Wilbur Mathison, 64, 0f Machesney Park, IL. Died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 in his home. He was born on February 3, 1947 in Rockford, IL. to Wilbur Clair & Florence (Jackson) Mathison. Employed by CJ's Custom Cuts for many years. Army Veteran, serving 2 years in Vietnam. East High School graduate and received his Associates degree at Rock Valley College.
Survived by his Sister, Doris (Robert) Benson of Rockford; Brother, Dale (Betsy) Mathison of Rockford; Many nieces and nephews, including Cynthia (Ed) Heffernon, Jeffrey Benson, Ted Benson, Sylvia (Chuck) Lents, Douglas (Mary) Mathison, Deborah (Peter) Vitale, Deanna Laing, Kim (Brad) Keister, Mark (Laura) Mathison, and Jennifer (Eric) Johnson. Numerous great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his brother Darwin Mathison.
Memorial Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday June 10, 2011 at Scandinavian Cemetery 1700 Rural Street in Rockford. Arrangements by Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home 304 N. 5th St. Rockford, IL. Memorials may be donated to the family in lieu of flowers.
