LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER

Betty J. Divan-83-Loves Park, Illinois, passed away at the home of her daughter at 7:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, surrounded by her family. Born January 14, 1926 in Byron, Illinois, daughter of Samuel and Elna Peebles Burd. Married to Robert B. Divan in Rockford on August 8, 1942. He died in 1989. Betty was a graduate of Rockford High School and a hairdresser for many years working from her home. Former employment was at Amerock Corp. and Illinois Bell as a switchboard operator. She was an avid Cub fan. Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Dr. Richard) Pyzynski of Rockford, her son Robert (Peggy) Divan of Milton, WI. Her special friend, Cliff Huffman of Winnebago, IL. 2 sisters, Mary Martin of Belvidere and Wilma “Billie” Dunham of Sonoma, CA. 4 Grandchildren, Bryan (Lisa) Divan, Troy Divan, Tiffany (Jay) Pyzynski and Greg Stevens all of Rockford. 8 Great grandchildren, Brooke, Breanna, Joseph, Taylor, Carly, Nick, Shelby and Savannah. Preceded in death by her sisters, Lola Saam, Vera Rowe, and Erma Tiffany and her brothers, Raymond and Viva Burd. Services at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 19 2009, at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home. Pastor Jason McClenthen of Christian Life Center will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
